Twenty years ago, Carvoeiro was a small fisherman’s village, but over the years it developed to one of the most attractive holiday areas in the Algarve.
The town grew through well thought out construction and organized development.
Villas and holiday resorts as well as hotels and golf resorts settled around the town, in no way damaging the landscape.
Your view will seldom be obstructed by skyscrapers in the open spaces of Carvoeiro. Here the coast line, its cliffs and coves are amongst the most beautiful in the Algarve. You have the possibility to discover the coast from the water, with boat excursions from the Portimão harbor, and go into the century old caves.
To the interior you will find the Monchique mountains and Foia, its highest point (more than 900m high).
In the town itself everything you need can be found, such as banks, post office, doctors (also English speaking) and of course a big selection of restaurants, bars, cafés and shops.
The most beautiful golf courses, riding centers, tennis centers, waterparks, Zoomarine and varied water sports are also to be found nearby.
