Enjoy a taste of Portugal in the typical Algarvian 1893 farm cottage, recently renovated, set in large natural, mature garden, yet near to usual tourist needs.

The cottage is situated at the eastern end of Carvoeiro, next door to the fourstar development of Rocha Brava. It is set in a large natrural garden retaining many of the orginal trees - fig, almond and 600 year old carob, and fossilized rock formation.

Also retained in the garden are the Potuguese style bread ofen and well. We are near the cliff tops, a few minutes walk from the "farol" - Potuguese word for lighthouse. A few minutes drive to the bustling village of Carvoeiro, a popular international tourist resort, but still charming and pretty.

Aerea Information

In the immediate vicinity you will find a beauty salon, gym and a diving school. Banks and German and British doctors can be found in Carvoeiro. Nearby there are two water parks and a riding centre. Within 25 minutes you have pottery shops at Porches, the incredible marine park Zoomarine and the Algarve Shopping Centre at Guia with an English cinema. Cliff Richard's award winning winery Vida Nova, which is next to Algarve shopping, is well worth a visit.

In Portimão you can walk along the picturesque river and taste Portuguese cuisine, with excellent local wine, in one of the light and airy restaurants. Or take a boat trip along the coast to see the caves or watch dolphins. You could go to the new Aqua Portimao shopping centre, which has Primark, H&M, Mango, Springfield, Bershka, Massimo Dutti and many more shops. There are restaurants and cafes, ample car parking along with entertainment for children.

The pretty fishing village of Ferragudo is very quaint with small shops, galleries, restaurants and bars.

Vale de Centianes is one of those undiscovered places where you can have a quiet holiday, yet you are only walking minutes away from 14 restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes. Nearby there is a small supermarket, a pizzeria and Helders Tropical bar. You can even have a take away breakfast!

The Rocha Brava complex is a five minute walk away with a selection of eating places including our favourite restaurant Rafael Alfanzina. Nearby is Farol’s, which overlooks gardens and pools. In the other direction you have Pizzaria Mona Lisa

If Golf is your sport the Vale de Milho course is less than a quarter of mile away. Quinta do Gramacho and Vale da Pinta are around a 15 minute drive. There is also scuba diving at the nearby Tivoli Hotel.

The Algarve has a light, cooling breeze during the hot summer. There are numerous beautiful sandy beaches with beach bars and restaurants within a 10 minute drive.
